Day 2: Local Culture, Monastery or Cave Church & Return

Option A: Hike to Mount Asheton Monastery
Start your day with a peaceful hike or mule ride up to Asheton Maryam Monastery, perched high on the cliffs above Lalibela. As you ascend, enjoy sweeping mountain views and the calm, spiritual feel of the highlands.

Option B: Visit Yemrehanna Kristos Church
Prefer a drive? Head out for a 40-minute trip to Yemrehanna Kristos, a hidden gem built inside a cave. Older than the famous rock churches, its layered wood-and-stone design and ancient mummies make it truly special.

Lunch:
Return to town for lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoy another delicious Ethiopian dish while soaking in the stories and moments from your trip.

Afternoon:
